I’ve loved boxing since I was young—I’d stay up late to watch fights and nothing excited me more. I tried other sports, from snowboarding to football, but boxing was always my favourite. I hit a rough patch—smoking, drinking, not doing well with my parents—but after losing my first fight I made a big change: I quit smoking and drinking for good, committed fully, and won my next two by KO. Since then I’ve trained hard, kept winning, became North West champion, and was picked as North West team captain after earning Fight of the Night on an international show against a strong Irish boxer.
