I started fighting young — when I was only a baby. I went on to train in Sedbergh, Bradford with ex-pro Peter Cannon, who turned me into the fighter I am. It didn’t come at once: plenty of hard work, plenty of discipline — running 10 miles a day, tracking calories, dieting, early mornings, late nights. I won my first fight by knockout, then I fell in love with boxing.
